DA vs CDC: Which Approval Path Is Right for Your New Home?Before construction begins, every new home requires the right planning approval. In New South Wales, this is generally through either a Development Application (DA) or a Complying Development Certificate (CDC).
A CDC is often the faster option for projects that meet specific planning standards. A DA is usually required for more complex homes, including sloping sites, waterfront properties, and architecturally designed residences that need council assessment.
